Isn’t it time we tackle the issue of negative body image once and for all? The best way to do so is with a completely new approach on nutritional health and obesity.
We were honored to present at the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses’ Event this past Saturday. The event addressed the psychiatric perspective on obesity, disordered eating, and nutritional health.
Together with Jill Shaffer, RD, we presented our campaign “Stop BadBodyTalk: Change the Message.” Through this campaign, we hope to change the way that we talk about our bodies and the bodies of others.
By eliminating negative terminology and coming up with a healthier way to our own bodies, we can begin to protect ourselves and others from the emotional and physical harm caused by bad body talk.
If you’re struggling with an eating disorder or negative body image, give me a call. I’d love to speak with you in person about how you can Change the Message you’ve created about your body.
